We are looking for an accomplished Marketing & Communications Manager to join us at a pivotal time for the company.

We believe that creating innovative, user-led digital solutions can improve the lives of both users and the organisations who serve them. Instrumental to this is the ability to deliver on our vision by ensuring that existing and potential users know how to find and get the most from our products and services. .

The new Marketing & Communications Manager will be responsible for Give A Little, our charitable point of donation service, and products therein. 

You’ll use your strong communication abilities to connect with individuals and organisations to increase the adoption of Give A Little, and become known in the sector as a trusted member of the charitable fundraising community. You’ll make sure that Give A Little users have the support and information needed to use Give a Little in a way that suits their needs. 

You’ll draw on the expertise of your colleagues across research, design, and engineering to create and manage a marketing and communications strategy to help us reach and support more charities to raise more funds to do brilliant things.

Salary

£40k to £45k depending on experience.

About the role

As the lead for Give A Little’s marketing and communications efforts, you’ll have considerable freedom to determine your priorities based on your expertise, the ambitions for the product, and the needs of our users. However, you can expect to:

  • Develop key messages, lead on creating and maintaining appropriate and consistent language and terminology across all media

  • Develop and deliver creative marketing and communication strategies, plans and approaches to help market and position Give A Little to attract users and partners

  • Design and develop creative communication and marketing products – presentations, blog posts, social media campaigns, etc. – that will maximise Give A Little’s reach and support our objectives

  • Engage with the Give A Little community in an outreach capacity, using social media and other activities like events as necessary, to ensure our users feel supported and in order to become a known and trusted person working in the sector

  • Monitor and respond to support requests from current and prospective Give A Little users in order to help meet their immediate concerns whilst understanding where our communications and marketing efforts need to be iterated in order to provide better information and reduce support requests

  • Plan and implement direct marketing approaches including targeting, personalisation of messages and measurability; data analysis, customer profiling and segmentation

  • Report on and analyse all aspects of communications and marketing, and ensure effective evaluation mechanisms are in place to measure success.

  • Ensure the Give A Little brand meets expectations through monitoring marketing trends and user and partner feedback.

  • Manage the Give A Little mailing lists

  • Keep up to date on best practice within the charity sector generally and particularly changes to communications innovation, legislation and codes of practice

  • To lead, manage and plan key organisational marketing and communications initiatives, such as International Day of Charity and other national and international campaigns relevant to Give A Little and its users

  •  To carry out market research and needs analysis on Give A Little’s key audiences

In addition to being a member of the wider CYB team, this role will report into and receive support from CYB’s Director of Software Engineering, as well as support from the Managing Director.

The preferred candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • worked with teams to cultivate a market presence that clearly communicates a product’s value and ambition

  • proactively designed and delivered campaigns or initiatives that have fostered the emergence of a community around a product or service 

  • honed a clear and welcoming communication style in order to convey messages, plans and ideas via a range of channels

  • proactively designed and delivered campaigns or initiatives that have fostered the emergence of a community around a product or service 

  • able to communicate persuasively to people at all levels about the value and benefits of both the work itself and the way in which it is delivered

  • supported user research and/or market research activities to gather impactful insights and worked with team members to incorporate them into a wider communications and marketing strategy

  • able to proactively build relationships with users, stakeholders and partners and able to provide guidance or direct towards a solution if relevant

  • a champion for the mindset of contemporary ways of working (e.g. people-centred, being transparent, delivering value early and often, collaboration, etc.)

  • an ability and willingness to work with the wider team to input into the solving of problems that may fall outside of your revolve responsibilities

  • experience of using our preferred toolset: Mailjet, Trello, Miro, Google Drive, and Slack
