We are looking for a passionate Delivery Manager to join us at a momentous time for the company. We believe that creating innovative, user-led digital solutions can improve the lives of both users and the organisations who serve them. 

About the role

The quality of our delivery is something that we’re very proud of and that we’ve worked hard to achieve. The role of the Delivery Manager is central in creating the conditions for our teams to succeed by helping them work together efficiently and collaboratively, whilst mitigating risks and flexing plans and approaches, so they can deliver client outcomes - whilst enjoying the experience at the same time.

This role involves leading and coaching one or more CYB project teams in the art of doing the right things in the right way. This will require acting as a servant-leader for the project team, proactive stakeholder engagement at a number of levels, supporting and adapting agile ways of working, and intervening quickly and tactfully when necessary to help the team and client address delivery issues.

The successful candidate will be experienced in clarifying and communicating the trade offs and suitability of different prioritisation decisions, and will be comfortable working with Developers, Designers and Researchers in a user-centred approach. You’ll draw on the expertise of your colleagues across research, design, and engineering, in order to prioritise features and deliver experiences that delight users and raise the bar in the market.

Salary 

From £45k to 68k based on experience and skill level.

Your skills and experience 

We’re looking for skilled practitioners with experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, specifically someone who has many (but not necessarily all) of the following areas of expertise:

  • Proven expertise in areas of agile delivery and team dynamics at both a project and programme level - including being able to marry the more traditional, corporate approach of larger organisations with an individual team’s ways of working

  • A champion for the mindset of contemporary ways of working (e.g. user-centred design, being transparent, delivering value early and often, collaboration, learning mindset, incremental and iterative delivery, etc.)

  • Excellent facilitation skills, just as able to lead teams through stand-ups, show-and-tells, retrospectives, and sprint planning, as they are able to design and deliver workshops to help clarify requirements and expectations

  • Pragmatic and inclusive planning skills, knowing when to build consensus and when to be more directive to ensure teams are both aware of, and able to achieve, delivery milestones

  • A strong sense of empathy and fun, able to sense and boost team morale when working on challenging work

  • A sense of perspective, able to work with teams and individuals to help sit their day-to-day work in a wider context to aid prioritisation and help celebrate success

  • The ability to support teams to problem solve, and confidently intervene when necessary to maintain progress and momentum. This will require a willingness act as the first point of escalation for project issues - working with the team and client stakeholders to resolve them and escalating further in a solution-oriented way as appropriate

  • Able to proactively build relationships with client stakeholders and able to provide guidance, issue resolution and reassurance

  • Able to communicate warmly and persuasively to people at all levels about the value and benefits of both the work itself and the way in which it is delivered
