Caution Your Blast announces launch of new UK Government marriage service
Caution Your Blast Ltd (CYB) today announces the launch of a new digital service for the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) that makes it easier and quicker for British people to get married or register a civil partnership abroad.
The creation of the global Prove Your Eligibility marriage service allows British nationals to apply, pay, and provide supporting documentation required by countries to confirm eligibility for marriage and civil partnership, such as marriage affirmations and certificates of no impediment (CNI).
The service is initially launched in 21 countries, which account for 9% of the non-digitised cases handled by FCDO, with the service to be rolled out across the rest of the world in the coming weeks. There will also be continued improvements to UK Government guidance that will make it easier for British nationals to find and apply for these new digital services.
As the FCDO’s digital partner since 2019, CYB had previously digitised marriage services for Thailand, Japan, China and Morocco. But this service provides a sustainable model that can be replicated and simultaneously adopted across all countries issuing CNIs and affirmations.
Ben Stewart, Caution Your Blast’s Founder/Managing Director says: “We sometimes see a headline such as this and think nothing much of it. But hidden underneath this is a world of complexity that the CYB and FCDO team has successfully dealt with. This is due to the wide variation in policy and requirements of overseas governments that British nationals need to comply with in order to get married in another country. ‘Dealing with this tangled ball of wool on a global scale (240+ countries)’ is a more accurate headline, from which the team has managed to knit a beautiful jumper. This outcome is testimony to the tenacity, skills, and professionalism of the team and I congratulate them wholeheartedly on going live with the service”
