About the Senior Service Designer role

Caution Your Blast is looking for a talented Senior Designer to join us at an incredibly exciting time for the company. We’re passionate about creating innovative, user-led digital solutions that improve the lives of both users and the organisations who serve them. Service design is at the heart of all of our work so that we continue to create exemplary end-to-end services able to deliver meaningful impact.

The new Senior Designer will initially join our work with a central government department and play a pivotal role in shaping how citizens understand and interact with new and existing services.

This Senior Service Designer will be line managed by Christine Fent, CYB’s Head of Design and Branding.

About the skills and mindset the Senior Service Designer will need to thrive

We’re looking for skilled practitioners with experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, specifically someone who has:

  • collaborated with teams to develop exceptional end-to-end products and services that are usable for everyone 

  • developed low-fidelity concepts and high-fidelity designs that help teams create meaningful solutions for users 

  • communicated design ideas using a variety of techniques, including, service models, user journeys, system maps and/or infographics

  • supported user research activities to gather impactful insights and translated them into proposed next steps

  • designed accessible services for people who have access needs and use assistive technology

  • mentored or managed more junior designers to guide their skills development and design approach

  • Introduced and advocated for design thinking in organisations less familiar with a user-centred approach
